We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with expertise in the installation and commissioning of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substations. This role involves overseeing all aspects of GIS Substation projects, from planning and execution to completion, while ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GIS technology, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects effectively.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager with expertise in the installation and commissioning of Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) Substations. This role involves overseeing all aspects of GIS Substation projects, from planning and execution to completion, while ensuring strict adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GIS technology, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to manage complex infrastructure projects effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, for GIS Substation installations.
- Oversee site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project scope and requirements.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review and approve technical designs and specifications.
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of GIS equipment to ensure compliance with design and operational standards.
- Ensure proper integration of GIS systems with other substation components, including transformers and control systems.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
- Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across all project sites.
- Ensure compliance with local and international standards and regulations related to GIS installations.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential project challenges.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to senior management and clients.
- Foster strong relationships with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality or safety.
- Track project expenditures and ensure accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement of GIS equipment and materials.
- Performs any other duties assigned
- Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
- 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years focused on GIS Substation installation.
- Strong knowledge of GIS technology, equipment, and installation processes.
- Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, or other substation design codes.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, Agile).
- Proven ability to manage large-scale infrastructure projects, including scheduling and budgeting.
- Knowledge of advanced testing and diagnostic tools used in GIS commissioning.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
