Senior Project Engineer (Structural)

GavinHeath is partnering with a client in Albuquerque, NM looking to add a Sr. Project Engineer to their team. The role is a Direct Hire position.

Responsibilities:

• Manages engineering and technician staff to complete projects.
• Coordinates structural design scope in-house and with other consultants.
• Develops, monitors, and manages project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
• Serves as the primary point-of-contact with clients and contractors for their projects throughout design and construction.
• Develops and implements project specific QA/QC plans.
• Acts as a mentor and resource for less-experienced staff and assists with their career development.
• Attends project meetings and represents our client during design and construction.
• Takes an active role in developing and maintaining client relationships.
• This engineer will have the opportunity for structural design nationally and internationally in markets such as healthcare, commercial, office, sports, entertainment, and education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
• 9 years progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year. Passing the 16-hour SE exam also counts as 1 year)
• Demonstrates leadership abilities beneficial to the company's future
• Possess strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills as well as having excellent time management and organization skills.
• Preferred:
  • Has designed numerous projects and followed them through from start of design to end of construction
  • Demonstrates effective internal and external communication skills
  • Demonstrates advanced project management skills
  • Ability to handle stressful situations/deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential information
