Description of Role

As a Senior Project Architect, you would play a crucial role in leading the design and execution of high-profile university and civic projects. Your expertise would contribute to our mission of creating innovative, sustainable, and timeless architectural solutions. You would collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project success from inception to completion, creating spaces that elevate human experiences and serve as cultural landmarks for their community.&
Higher Education and Municipal experience are highly preferred, since that is all we do here.

Key Responsibilities:

•
Design Coordination
: Direct and lead the project team through schematic design, design development, and construction documents using Revit. Depending on size and complexity of the project, this role may also function as a combination of Project Architect / Project Manager for the project team.& &
•
Construction Administration:
Bring projects full circle by conveying the design intent of these legacy buildings through construction administration duties while working collaboratively with the contractor and helping deliver an enduring building for the client.& &

Agency Review
: Coordinate with AHJ’s and help navigate the project through the permitting and regulatory agency review process (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).& &
•
Project Planning
: Establish milestones, deliverable dates and tasks for the project team to meet the overarching goals.& &
•
Presentations
: Participate in occasional marketing presentations with the principals to win new work; and in design presentations to convey project deliverables to the client.& &
•
Consultant Coordination
: Work with consultants from SD through CA to effectively coordinate and harmonize the drawing set into a cohesive effort.& &
•
Team Leadership
: Direct, organize, and mentor younger developing staff to help them grow in their career and licensure journey.& &
•
Project Management
: Work closely with the two principals to establish project scheduling, creating and updating drawing sets, managing deliverables, bidding, permitting, construction administration, site visits, code research, and quality control.& &
•
Construction Documents
: Lead and oversee construction documents using Revit; and by assigning tasks to interns and project coordinators on the team.& &
•
Conflict Resolution
: Anticipate conflicts in the drawings and/or field conditions to resolve issues creatively through technical and design versatility.& &
•
Communication
: Effectively communicate within the project team, principals, consultants and client representatives.& &
•
Process Improvement
: Help the firm identify innovative and improved processes that might bring efficiency to its processes.& &
• Project Supervision
: Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects with high technical complexity, ensuring project development and quality documentation while working within the project schedule and budget.& &
