We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Project Accountant to join our team. This is a permanent position that plays a crucial role in our organization, ensuring all financial aspects of our construction projects are accurately managed and reported. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction project accounting, specifically with WIP (Work in Progress) and Project Cost-Percent Completion methods. Proficiency in Procore or equivalent software is also required. Responsibilities
As a Senior Project Accountant, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing all financial aspects of construction projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Managing Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and ensuring accurate and timely completion.
3. Implementing and maintaining Project Cost-Percent Completion accounting methods.
4. Utilizing Procore or equivalent software to track and manage project costs and financial data.
5. Collaborating with project managers and other team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
6. Analyzing and interpreting financial data to provide valuable insights to management.
7. Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
8. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
9. Providing guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project accounting.
3. Strong understanding of WIP and Project Cost-Percent Completion accounting methods.
4. Proficiency in Procore or equivalent construction management software.
5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
8. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
9. Strong organizational and time management skills.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
11. Knowledge of construction industry regulations and standards.
12. Advanced proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
13. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
