We are on the lookout for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and driven Senior Project Accountant to join our leading construction firm. This is a permanent position that offers the opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial management sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our projects, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and providing financial reports and forecasts to our management team.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial performance of assigned construction projects, ensuring they remain within budget and meet financial objectives.
- Coordinate with project managers to develop project budgets, analyze cash flows, and forecast financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal financial procedures.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
- Manage project-related accounting tasks, such as invoicing, payment processing, and financial record keeping.
- Use Sage 300 software for financial management and reporting.
- Assist with financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Provide financial expertise and guidance to project teams, helping them understand the financial implications of their decisions.
- Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting
- Proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience with Sage 300 or similar accounting software.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when required.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
