The Next Generation Experiences Team's mission within Developer Relations is to accelerate the adoption of Microsoft technologies by engaging with student developers and technologists in their communities, removing complexity and helping them derive value from our platform. At its core, the student developer team's charter is twofold: 1) to improve our developer products through student feedback and 2) to attract student developers and technologists to our ecosystem, enabling them to build skills and become their technology partner of choice now and in the future. We are at the core of transformation across Microsoft - with significant opportunity for you to influence how students use and perceive the Microsoft cloud in scenarios like Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Open Source Development. We're looking for a highly-motivated and strategy-focused talent with strong program management and project management skills to manage and grow a community of student developer advocates, enable learning for student technologists, and provide students with a positive Microsoft experience. You'll have an opportunity to grow your leadership skills, expand your Microsoft network, and to have significant influence and impact across the company. **Responsibilities** As a Senior Program Manager in Student Developer Programs, the core impact of this role is developing and executing strategy around managing and growing our university student engagement through our Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador program, Imagine Cup competition, hackathons and workshops on campus plus online skilling with Microsoft Learn. Your day-to-day might include: + Develop an understanding of the needs of the student communities to build and execute program strategies. + Ensure students understand the technical skilling path and nurture them to progress to advocacy skilling. + Provide guidance to the Microsoft community on student needs, desires, motivations. + Help support the global and regional Imagine Cup competition. + Support student led advocacy efforts through connections with Microsoft resources, community resources, and benefits of the program - be able to speak in their technical language. + Be a member of cross group community vteams influencing the academic ecosystem within the region(s). + Gather feedback and student sentiment from participants in the program to improve the program and Microsoft technologies. + Report on the health of the program within the region(s). Manage program benefit allocations and budget dependencies. **Qualifications** The ideal candidate is a highly-motivated, self-starter with a strong strategic and community development acumen who thrives amidst ambiguity, has a can-do attitude, has strong intuitions about what resonates with student developers that is shaped by their experiences working on programs to drive student and developer adoption of technologies. + Understanding of and passionate about student developer audiences, and why/how they make choices about the technologies they use. + Strong core skills in program and project management especially in a fast-moving, high volume, changing environment. + Excellent written, verbal presentation, and communications skills - including the keen ability to translate ideas into various mediums for effective, audience-appropriate consumption. + Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize projects. + Passion for technology with some subject matter expertise in Azure and open source technologies. + A willingness to learn, share, and improve. Ability to self-study; ramp to latest technologies. + An ability to build and manage cross-group, effective working relationships.
