• Senior Production Support Specialist – VMWare
• The Senior Production Support Specialist is a member of the Virtualization tower and is responsible for VMware Operations.
• The team is responsible for deploying, configuring and managing the VMware environment.
• The Senior Production Support Specialist will possess extensive technical knowledge and excellent communication skills to ensure projects and tasks are completed on time and lead team members to excellence.
• We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven experienced individual who enjoys working in a large multi-team environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and participate in VMware technology roadmaps, testing and proof of concepts, solution validation. Participate in system design improvements and performance enhancements.
• Provide Tier 3 support for VMware environment. Troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provide root cause analysis, involve the appropriate resources as needed. Act as team lead for escalation of issues.
• Identify current operational process inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provide expert technical architectural support and guidance for solution opportunities that involve virtualization, cloud infrastructure, management and security, including integration with certain select 3rd party products.
• Contribute to data center standards development and enforcement.
• Responsible for the creation, management and upkeep of Intranet FAQs, User guides and Knowledgebase, standards and build documents including DR plans.
• May direct contractor and 3rd party resources in day to day activities and provide feedback on performance through appropriate channels.
• Support of Client Blades, Cisco UCS Hardware platform.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma, GED, Equivalent Certification or Military Experience
• Experience as Tier 3 support in a fast-paced and demanding organization
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must Have's:
• 3-5 years of VMware experience
• 1-2 years of UCS Management experience
Nice to Have:
• Experience with Dell and Client servers
• Power CLI
• VM Certifications
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
• Certification in appropriate VMware technology – VCP
