Senior Production Manager at CALPAK

CALPAK, a leading innovator in the luggage and travel accessories industry, offers a range of high-quality products including luggage sets, duffel bags, dopp kits, and tote bags. With a sourcing network primarily in the APAC region — CALPAK is dedicated to enhancing the travel experience with its stylish and functional products.

We are looking for a proactive and meticulous Senior Production Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring our production processes run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. As the primary point of contact for our international vendors and freight partners, you will manage and oversee the entire production lifecycle, from issuing purchase orders to managing export/import logistics.

Requirements:

• Vendor Coordination: Serve as the main liaison between CALPAK and international manufacturing vendors. Ensure all necessary production specifications and documents are accurately communicated and understood for timely production start.
• Purchase Order Management: Issue and manage purchase orders to vendors, ensuring all terms are met and documented properly.
• Performance Measurement: Develop and maintain a vendor scoreboard to evaluate vendor performance based on on-time delivery, quality control, and compliance metrics.
• Quality Assurance: Monitor and report on product quality, ensuring all products meet CALPAK’s stringent standards.
• Compliance Oversight: Oversee and ensure factory compliance with all local and international regulations, including labor laws and environmental standards.
• Logistics Management: Manage logistics from vendors to the US, including coordination with freight forwarders and handling import/export documentation to ensure seamless transportation.
• Freight Partnership Management: Act as the primary contact for our international freight forward partner, optimizing shipping routes and methods to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery.
• Innovation and Improvement: Continuously assess and improve supply chain and production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in the CPG space
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in production coordination or supply chain management, preferably in the luggage or fashion accessories industry.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and logistics, particularly within the APAC region.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships with international vendors and partners.
• High level of proficiency in logistics and supply chain management software.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
