Leading Insurance company is seeking a Director of Finance Systems to join its growing team in Durham, NC.
This is a Hybrid opportunity - (3 days a week at the office / 2 days a week from home)

Description:
The Senior Product Owner will develop system requirements and track completion of development across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The Application Services team provides support for the Policy Administration platform and configurable systems such as workflow, customer relationship management, data transport, and document creation services. A successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion, and has experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst within an IT function and/or demonstrable experience within the Insurance domain. Experience with Annuities, Insurance products, and Policy Administration is highly desired.
What You Will Do:
· Become an expert on assigned system or area and own communication with end users.
· Lead discussions with cross-functional teams to develop system requirements and coordinate with other IT teams that integrate with assigned system(s)
· Mentor and/or directly manage junior Product Owners.
· Assist with the policy administration system including new product builds and/or creation of 1099s as a carrier
· Refine and document requirements, tracking them across development, testing, and deployment.
· Prioritize the backlog between multiple competing projects and production issues.
· Drive project execution and proactively report on project progress, risks, and blockers.
· Perform detailed analysis of assigned system to investigate defects and enhancements.
· Create process flows for business procedures and assess potential enhancements.
· Maintain high quality documentation.
· Liaison with third party vendors.

· 5+ years of experience working within IT in applications support, software or database development, or requirement gathering.
· 5+ years of experience in insurance domain; annuity/life preferred.
· Product Owner or Business Analyst experience in an Agile setting.
· Ability to project plan, and prioritize work between multiple, concurrent projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
· Experience with Insurance product development and/or carrier 1099 generation, preferred
· Track tasks and follow up with stakeholder to drive project to completion.
· Manage SDLC through enterprise tools such as JIRA.
· Collect and document requirements through discussions with business stakeholders and technical leaders.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Bachelor’s degree with coursework in computer information systems and technologies or demonstrated competency through related work experience.
· Ability to establish professional relationships and collaborate across multiple teams.
