About the Job
The Senior Product Manager, IT Retail Software (POS) manages the ideation, strategy, execution, and evolution of digital storefront and mobile device applications. The role conducts evaluations of current and prospective software, use cases, and works to identify and implement process improvements. The position reports to the EVP of IT and works closely with Marketing, Retail and Business System Administrator and third-party software representatives.
- Own the software development lifecycle at each stage, including business and technical requirements gathering, application development, quality assurance, deployment, operational oversight, and ongoing support programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and operational teams to develop a vision for the product and its evolution.
- Apply competitive analysis to understand competitor strengths and weaknesses and identify market. opportunities; identify and apply market trends.
- Manage the project scope, requirements, resources, and development effort to deliver best-in-class products.
- Develop a product feature roadmap based on functionality, usability, and user experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in software development, computer science, product management, or a related field is required.
- 7+ years of related IT product experience required.
- Proven, verifiable experience as a product manager, software developer, or project manager role is required.
- Extensive knowledge of software development, product management, and user experience.
- Comfortable working with an agile methodology, Daily Scrum and Sprint Planning
- Comfortable applying critical product concepts, such as the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
- Excellent communication skills, ability to influence and manage cross-functional teams.
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, analytical, and research skills required.
- Master’s degree preferred, but not required.
- Cannabis, CPG, manufacturing, and/or F500 public company experience is a plus.
- IT software experience, specifically SAP and Sage Intacct preferred.
- General knowledge of IT systems, analytics, and dashboards is a plus.
