We are seeking an experienced, versatile and customer obsessed Senior Procurement Manager, Cost Engineering who will be responsible for driving cost engineering initiatives in one or several procurement categories (for example construction, material handling equipment or capital expenditure). Key job responsibilities - Develop overall procurement cost-engineering roadmap and establish should-costing for one or several procurement categories - Lead change management while introducing new cost engineering and design-to-cost approach across the procurement function and suppliers - Utilize costing methodologies and appropriate software tools to prepare reliable bottom-up cost models and should-cost targets during design, specification and development process in close collaboration with category managers, engineering and construction - Support preparation and evaluation of call for tenders and supplier quotations, prepare negotiation dossiers from cost engineering viewpoint in close collaboration with category managers - Ensure supplier quotations meet 'should cost' estimates, support negotiations by challenging quotations using technical analysis aiming for cost reductions - Advise on the cost impact of changes in specification - Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to investigate and identify product innovations and design-to-cost initiatives with the ultimate target to achieve cost improvement - Develop new and enhance existing specification templates with category managers - Define cost engineering KPIs and scorecards to track and challenge supplier performance, to improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships - Communicate with and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Arlington, VA, USA | Bellevue, WA, USA | Houston, TX, USA | Irvine, CA, USA | Nashville, TN, USA | San Jose, CA, USA | Tempe, AZ, USA Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of program or project management experience - 5+ years of supply chain experience - Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements - Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership Preferred Qualifications - 2+ years of driving process improvements experience - Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
