Position Summary:
The Gummy Process Engineer will be responsible for the introduction of new gummy products and processes by providing product and process expertise from ideation to the first plant production. This role includes supporting the preparation and implementation of factory CAPEX projects. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical support to the factories through the Technical Assistance Request process.
Key Responsibilities:
I nnovation / Renovation pipe-line:
• Responsible for the design and development of Gummy products and process from small-scale manufacturing to commercial operation
• Support the development of the Gummy Technology and processes roadmap for NHSc
• Analyzes existing equipment and recommends modifications when necessary for process optimization
CAPEX Project Management and Support:
• Support the development of Gummy processes and manage the planning and execution in accordance with the project brief.
• Collaborate with the other project team members to improve efficiency and strengthen competencies.
• Effectively communicate project status and results through written technical documentation and oral presentations.
• Preparation / review of PFD, P&ID's or project specific specifications
• Perform process calculations like heat & mass balance, Utility sizing
Technical Assistance:
• Be recognized as a specialist in the field of Gummy Manufacturing and as a resource for markets and factories
• Can provide technical assistance remotely or on site when required on Gummy Manufacturing
• Make recommendations for process improvements to the relevant stakeholders.
• When necessary participate in teams to carry out technical due diligence evaluations of suppliers and technical
• line validations of Nestle or co-manufacturing factories worldwide
People and Know-how:
• Good understanding of Technology, Regulatory, Quality and Safety Requirements for Gummies Manufacturing
• Good understanding of raw materials used in Gummy Manufacturing like Gelatin, Starch, Pectin etc,
• Good understanding of Mogul Line for Gummy Manufacturing
• Good understanding on equipment standards and selection for Compounding & mixing, cooking & cooling, Depositing & molding , Dyring and Demolding, Cooling , polishing and filling for Gummies
• Ability to support knowledge & competence transfer from NHSc NPTC Bridgewater to the factories together with TCU team
• Provide coaching/guidance to Specialists as required
Experience and Education Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of Process Engineering experience in Gummies, Confectionary or similar
• Must have previous experience working on OSD facility projects
• Project Management Experience in a Food Manufacturing facility
• Experience in mixing, molding, cooling, demolding and filling processes.
• Experience in IQ, OQ, PQ and Validation processes
• Good working knowledge on Statistical Process Control
• Knowledge on the use of AutoCAD
• Good working knowledge on MS Office applications
