The Role
The Senior Process Engineer will lead manufacturing engineering activities for batch-process-based product lines. This role involves full ownership of a product line while contributing to the success of additional lines. The Senior Engineer will oversee all aspects of the product lifecycle, ensuring quality standards for materials are maintained and committed ship dates for finished products are met. Responsibilities include evaluating supplier changes, developing qualification plans for validation, and implementing continuous improvement projects. The position requires interpreting SPC (Statistical Process Control) data, managing material disposition, and applying critical thinking to optimize processes and maintain high-quality output. The Senior Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and ongoing success of assigned product lines, from inception to final production.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Ensure and maintain high-quality standards for both raw materials and finished products within the assigned product line.
- Review Statistical Process Control (SPC) data and calculate control limits to monitor process stability and quality.
- Manage and update batch sheets to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on the production floor.
- Apply strong problem-solving skills to conduct root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions within tight timeframes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage supplier changes, ensuring all process changes align with customer requirements and generating comprehensive data packages for review.
- Provide customers with objective evidence demonstrating that issues have been effectively addressed and resolved.
- Present findings and engineering recommendations to leadership teams, including the Business Manager, Engineering Manager, Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Control Manager, and Operations Director.
- Work closely with manufacturing personnel to ensure daily production tasks align with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
- Oversee and manage multiple long-term projects, many spanning over 12 months, ensuring all project details remain current and accurate.
- Develop alternative approaches with technical resources when initial qualification plans do not succeed, ensuring continuous progress.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, with at least 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly define issues, analyze potential root causes, and identify the true root cause.
- Strong willingness to learn on the job and become a subject matter expert in assigned areas.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively, applying new strategies rather than relying solely on prior knowledge.
- Proven capability to manage projects effectively, ensuring timelines are met and project details are maintained accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience in presenting to groups and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to provide engineering support to Manufacturing and QC personnel between 6 AM and 11 PM, as needed, to facilitate batch processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, or a related field, with at least 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with the microelectronics industry and its specific requirements.
- Experience using JMP or similar statistical software tools for data analysis and process improvement.
- Proficiency in applying problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, 8D, and DMAIC to drive continuous improvement.
- Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement training.
