PURPOSE:
The Quality Engineer will play a pivotal role in our organization by continuously improving both Customer Quality and Manufacturing Quality. The Quality Engineer will own the RMA process, including failure analysis, logistics, and cycle time. The Quality Engineer will help drive closure of both customer and manufacturing quality issues and be capable of driving cross-functional team activities to implement solutions using an 8D approach. The Quality Engineer will maintain appropriate quality metrics, including Incoming Acceptance Rate, and will drive activities to improve these metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Customer Quality:
- RMA process owner: Track, drive and provide status updates internally.
- For customer complaints/ issues, drive cross-functional team activities to implement solutions using 8D approach.
- Provide accurate data & Failure Analysis reports for each RMA in timely manner.
- Optimize customer satisfaction by addressing complaints/ concern in timely & effective manner.
- Maintain Quality Metrics and drive continuous improvement to achieve the Quality goals.
- Manufacturing Quality:
- Lead projects to solve various manufacturing quality issues.
- Lead projects to establish, maintain and improve FormFactor's Quality Management Systems and processes.
- Facilitates and supports problem solving efforts in manufacturing using quality tools such as 8D, Ishikawa, 5Why, 5S, FMEA, SPC, DOE.
- Analyze data as basis for continuous improvement activities.
- Support Engineering with the implementation of adequate process control systems including the development of related documentation.
- Develops the requirements for Statistical Process Control, Process Capability analysis, Control Charts, rules for establishing control limits etc.
- Work with other team members to support the internal audit program. Assist in performing internal audits, documents audit findings, and help drive the resolution of issues found during internal audits and reports audit findings to management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related discipline required
- Minimum 5 years Quality Engineering, Failure Analysis Engineering, or similar experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to effectively lead a team for various quality related projects
- Extensive knowledge ISO 9001 and IPC standards
- Solid understanding of Quality tools, 8D, Ishikawa, 5Why, 5S, FMEA, SPC, DOE
- Must be detail oriented with a focus on accuracy
- Must be highly organized and able to prioritize effectively
- Must be able to adjust to changing priorities
- Strong customer service orientation
- Proficient in data analysis using Excel
- Prefer experience with JMP
- Ability to excel in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Green Belt, Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer or other Engineering Certification is a plus
- Proven experience working in manufacturing industries with high precision such as Aerospace, Medical Devices,, Automotive or Semiconductor fabrication and/or Testing field
The pay range for this role in Baldwin Park, CA is between $122,600 and $160,965. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
