What You’ll Do:Title: Senior Pricing Analyst
You'll Report to: Senior Vice President of Pricing
The Senior Pricing Analyst participates in pricing and underwriting analysis to maintain rate adequacy; provides summaries of revisions to the company’s insurance products, evaluating pricing and underwriting components; coordinates timely price filing approvals with the Office of Insurance regulation; and addresses price revision opportunities in line with business appetite.
- Manages reporting of statistical data to governing entities.
- Prepares OIR filing documentation with adequate data support.
- Researches and works to correct pricing related system improvements.
- Assists internal partners with rating/manual rules inquiries
- Participates in workflow automation efforts by adhering to established quality control procedures and checklists.
- Processes accurate and well documented business requirements for all changes.
- Issues appropriate paperwork for all system price discrepancies.
- Assists in preparation of quarterly and annual financial submissions.
- Reviews and recommends procedure changes; develops documentation and implementation processes for changes as needed.
- Assists in defining solutions to industry problems by conducting competitor research.
- Follows-up to ensure corrections are made timely and accurately.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science or equivalent education and experience required.
Experience: Two (2) to Four (4) years of Florida Homeowners experience is required. Personal line property filing preparation experience is preferred.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Proven knowledge of insurance concepts, insurance rate-making principles and practices.
- Application of acquired knowledge and education to interpret laws and regulations as related to Property and Casualty insurance products.
- Experience with R and SQL
- Exceptional Excel skills required.
- Excellent documentation, presentation, interpersonal, coordination and organization skills.
- Strong ability to read, analyze, and interpret governmental regulations, technical procedures, insurance business periodicals/circulars, and professional journals.
- Skilled in writing, business correspondence, work orders and procedure manuals.
- Ability to apply concepts to practical situations.
- Skilled to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical data.
- Demonstrated ability to learn additional software applications as required.
- Ability to present ideas and information in a clear, concise, organized and diplomatic manner; gather information from multiple parties to ensure all perspectives are heard and considered; listen to others to respond effectively to ideas, thoughts and questions.
- Flexibility in shifting focus or course of action.
- Resourceful in gaining input to solve problems.
Schedule: 8:30-5:30pm, M-F. #LI-Onsite
Working Conditions: Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.
Travel: Minimum, as required.
