About the Job
We are seeking a Senior Power Platform Developer/Admin to join our team supporting our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client.
This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform. The position will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and leverage Power Platform tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents to create efficient and effective solutions. May utilize skills and knowledge in SharePoint 2013+, SharePoint Online and Power Automate workflows. Will support the client in designing PowerApps architecture and implementation, supporting development of innovative applications on the Microsoft Power Platform that meet business objectives, solve complex problems and deliver high value for customers.
Location of work is remote in US. Candidates will ideally be within driving distance to IRS Federal Buildings in Austin, TX, Farmers Branch, TX or Lanham, MD to pick up equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide design and implementation expertise to a cross-functional software development team.
- Design and develop software applications from business requirements in collaboration with other team members.
- Support testing and remediate defects.
- May mentor entry and mid-level developers.
- Design and implement applications using the Power Platform, implement custom Microsoft PowerApps solutions tailored to meet client needs.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather and understand requirements for Power Platform solutions.
- Design and implement custom applications leveraging PowerApps foundational technologies including connectors, forms, and flows, ensuring a user-friendly and intuitive interface.
- Design and implement data models in Power BI. Create automated workflows using Power Automate.
- Design and architect solutions using Power Platform components to meet business needs. Create data models, user interfaces, workflows, reports, and chatbots.
- Develop custom applications using Power Apps
- Integrate business processes, including SharePoint, Dynamics365, Power BI, Power Automate, and SQL Server.
- Participate in all levels of the project lifecycle, from design through implementation, and operations / maintenance.
- Support development of technical solutions to meet customer requirements, and evaluation of alternate solutions and frameworks.
- Develop and maintain concise end user documentation and runbooks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and user-friendly applications.
- Utilize canvas apps to create intuitive user interfaces and enhance user experience.
- Conduct testing and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed applications.
- Other duties as needed to meet customer expectations.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of related experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- Proven experience as a Microsoft PowerApps Developer with a strong understanding of canvas apps development.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Tenant environments and management of environments.
- Experience with SharePoint native objects and permissions (lists/views/web parts).
- Experience with Microsoft Dataverse/Common Data Service.
- Solid understanding of data connections, formulas, and expressions within PowerApps.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Power Platform components (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents).
- Experience working with enterprise integrations based on the MS Power Platform technologies.
- Knowledge of SQL Server.
- Proficiency in data modeling, UI/UX design, and workflow automation.
- Experience with backend integration and connecting Power Platform solutions with other systems.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include: IRS Project experience; Power Platform Developer Associate Certification; AWS, Google, or Azure Cloud Services experience
Additional Requirements as per Contract:
- Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active IRS Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
