Responsibilities
- Architect, develop, and manage PostgreSQL database systems for our always-on SaaS platform
- Optimize database design for maximum availability, scalability, and reliability
- Perform database performance tuning and capacity planning
- Guide developers on best practices for database design, query optimization, and indexing strategies
- Provide support for development and testing, including data setup and automated testing processes
- Research and implement cutting-edge database technologies and practices
- Establish and enforce data operations, security, and management policies
- Ensure database operations comply with HIPAA security standards
- Offer on-call support for production systems
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
- Over 7 years of experience in relational database management
- Minimum of 3 years managing high-availability PostgreSQL databases
- Expertise in RDBMS principles, database architecture, and normalization
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, features, and high-availability solutions
- Skilled in query optimization, indexing, and partitioning
- Proficiency in PL/PgSQL, triggers, and stored procedure development
- Experience with PostgreSQL in a Linux environment
- Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions, .NET clients using PostgreSQL, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices is a plus
