Senior Plant Accountant

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (onsite)
Compensation: $90,000 – $100,000 annually
Location: Canton, MI

This organization operates in the automotive manufacturing industry, specializing in metal stamping and offering application engineering, project management, and manufacturing services. The organization has 4 locations across Michigan and Mexico, totaling 500 employees. Our client has a commitment to transparency, sharing monthly financials with all employees. They focus on high output and value-driven operations.

Responsibilities:

1. Accounts Payable & Receivable Support

   • Assist with AP/AR processing as needed
   • Ensure invoices are processed correctly
   • Initiate ACH payments

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

   • Prepare budgets and provide insights for forecasts

3. Reconciliations & General Ledger (GL) Management

   • Analyze and evaluate GL accounts and balances
   • Investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate accounting

4. Financial Analysis

   • Prepare and summarize reports
   • Reconcile GL accounts by analyzing source documents

5. Month-End Close Support

   • Book journal entries and investigate variances
   • Understand and evaluate PO and receiving processes to ensure accuracy in the P&L

Software & Tools:

• Plex ERP system
• Strong Excel skills, including working with large data sets

Qualifications (Must-Have):

• 3-5+ years of general accounting experience (AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, and strong GL knowledge)
• Plant-level accounting experience
• Proficiency in Excel (high-volume data manipulation and analysis)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Plex software
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
• Automotive industry background (highly preferred)
• Budgeting, financial analysis, or FP&A experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Cost accounting expertise
