About the Job
WGACA is looking for an innovative, experienced Senior Planning and Data Analyst who can truly own the inventory planning and sales reporting for the Buying and Merchandising Team. The Senior Planning & Data Analyst will be responsible for updating and evolving WGACAs current inventory plan in alignment with the Finance and Sales teams in partnership with the Buying team primarily.
In addition, this role owns all reporting necessary for buying metrics, and furnishing them to the buying teams. A successful candidate is comfortable with ambiguity and is able to move beyond standard templates and processes. This candidate should be comfortable with managing intermediate and advanced planners and understand how to architect workflows within the team. They use their expertise, judgement and finally creativity to determine correct benchmarks buyers should be looking at, macro and micro views that either exist already but can be evolved or dont exist and need to be created, and finally are able to meaningfully participate alongside senior members of the company to design long-term solutions and strategies that improve organizational efficiency and bottom line results as it relates to inventory planning and monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Ownership of the open to buy planning process alongside the GMM for all channels: retail, ecommerce, wholesale from prior year analysis to deployment
- Optimize the Buy List process for the buying team alongside GMM and Buy Team in continuum
- Owns the Buy List deliverable and the reporting related to tracking the purchases realized versus what was deployed
- Drives the process for inventory planning and monitoring of the net inventory value throughout the year as sales plans become actualized and business shifts
- Actively participate in organization long term automation goals: identify new tool opportunities and partner with tech to scope and deliver solutions that improve efficiency for buying/planning alongside the GMM
- Works alongside the Allocator within the Buying Team to optimize reporting as it relates to stock to sales ratios and properly inventory levels by channel as the business evolves and shifts; is comfortable analyzing workflows as it relates to processes and can make judgement calls as to whether or not the system is efficient or needs modifying
- Hire, coach, and develop a quality team including, development planning, succession planning and regular performance reviews to address personal growth and development needed to foster a productive, focused team
Qualifications
- 7+ years of with Excel experience
- Experience communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience leading process improvement, systems development, and project management
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
- 7+ years of merchandise planning experience, related industry experience (consulting, investment banking), or product management
