Overview
The Senior Payroll and Time Tracking Analyst conducts and analyzes all payroll and time tracking activities. Ensures efficient administration of all payroll related accounting functions. Supports, manages, optimizes, and recommends payroll and time tracking requirements and configurations.
Hiring Range: $94K - $115K / Yr.
Responsibilities
- Supports payroll Manager for accuracy and resolves payroll issues. Ensures that all Easterseals’ payroll policies and procedures are followed. Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Recommends and establishes updates to business processes and procedures. Exercises judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Identifies risks and responds accordingly. Serves as a lead within the organization and as a subject matter expert for payroll and time keeping.
- Supports the preparation of all payroll functions and keeps the higher management updated on all processes and performance.
- Works with the Payroll Manager, Payroll Specialist II and III to review and reconcile the Quarter-End, Year-End and W-2 Processes.
- Supports internal and external audit requirements and practices.
- Leads special projects which include, but are not limited to, payroll and time keeping enhancements, and changes.
- Serves as a Workday subject matter expert for payroll and time tracking based or projects assigned providing continuous input on process improvement and elevated support.
- Builds domain knowledge, gathering requirements, providing solutions and impact analysis.
- Develops understanding of the business needs, evaluate Workday capabilities to ensure continuous improvement of the platform.
- Collaborates and partners across multiple functions and teams to understand business needs, assess system configuration feasibility and impact to other business processes, reports, integrations, or security.
- Assists in testing of solutions, integrations, security, annual events, and audits.Provides support for incident management for payroll and time tracking, data requests, reporting and analytics.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
- Typically requires an Associate’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or other related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years’ of Workday HCM experience in payroll and time tracking or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience to perform the job successfully.
- 3-5 years' of experience configuring Workday payroll and time tracking system according to organizational requirements, including setting up earnings and deduction codes, tax setups, payroll calendars, general ledger, time tracking rules and other system configurations.
- Experience analyzing and translating functional specifications and change requests into Workday Solution.
- Demonstrated a proactive and independent approach to problem-solving, identifying opportunities for system improvement and driving initiatives with limited supervision.
- Experience creating reports, dashboards, data loads and good understanding of business process framework, integrations, and security.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of payroll and time tracking systems.
- Ability to perform basic and higher mathematical calculations.
- Ability to work as a team player and promote a cooperative work atmosphere.
- Strong ability in communicating with diverse groups of people both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to create and present reports, as well as correspondence regularly.
- Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws impacting risk and safety functions.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office applications. Advanced skills in Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLookup, etc.
- Ability to properly interpret and implement policies, procedures, and regulations; consistently demonstrate good judgement and decision making skills; and exercise discretion and confidentiality in all situations.
- Good analytical skills, detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills and the ability to multi task and work under pressure with time critical deadlines.
