Shared Imaging is looking to add a Senior Payroll Specialist to our Human Resources team.
Work Schedule:
- 40 hours a week
- Monday thru Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, flexibility with start/end time
- Remote opportunity, onsite and virtual training
- Preferred residency, local to Downers Grove, IL
The Senior Payroll Specialist will process the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for hourly & salaried staff.
- Issue and track bonuses, commissions, sign-on bonuses, and referral bonus checks.
- Enter, review and process employee expense reports and reimbursements.
- Process travel allowances.
- Verify payroll-related information entered by new hires.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.
- Process additional payrolls as needed for final terminations, direct deposit, or payroll errors.
- Maintains information in the payroll system, including employee hourly rates, salaries, travel allowances, PTO and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
- Work with iSolved to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Assists employees with payroll-related questions.
- Prepares and distributes payroll reports.
- Prepares accounting journal entries for bi-weekly payroll.
- Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
- Special projects, as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Self-starter who can work well both independently and in collaboration with others.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- One to two years of experience in payroll processing.

The hourly range for this role is $27.00 - $30.00/hour, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for a performance-based merit increase annually. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
