The Senior Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely entry of Human Resource and Payroll information as it relates to the payroll process, including but not limited to the handling of garnishments and payroll taxes.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Enter new hires, terminations, and perform employee maintenance on existing employees. Employee maintenance includes transfers, address changes, pay rate changes, federal/state/local tax changes, direct deposit and other maintenance related to HR and payroll data
- Effectively communicate with field employees in a timely, accurate, confidential and efficient manner while obtaining a high level of customer satisfaction
- Evaluate garnishments, and like orders, ascertain the correct amount is deducted, and remit as needed. Correspond with garnishees, garnisher, and various authorities to assure that each order is being executed timely and accurately
- Maintain records and report for correct processing of payroll taxes in applicable states
- Enter adjustment transactions including voids, reversals, and adjustment checks
- Provide Tier 2 support for employee questions and training
- Additional duties as assigned
Employment Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Solid knowledge of payroll tax laws to include federal, state, and local
- Substantial experience processing garnishments, tax levies, support orders, and other types of wage attachments.
- Must have at least 6 years of experience in processing Multi State Payroll
- Experience in a high volume, centralized, multi-state, fast paced payroll processing environment and have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, payroll software scanners/printers, fax machines, and check printers
- Must work a full shift, come to work on time, and work overtime as needed
- The ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ultimate Software
- Bachelor’s degree a plus
- Experience in processing benefits is preferred but not required

Salary Range: $65000-$70000 Based on Experience
