Are you a seasoned Intellectual Property Paralegal with a passion for patent prosecution? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Our client is seeking a Senior IP/Patent Paralegal to join its dynamic legal team. This role will focus on the management of US and PCT applications, international patents, and liaising with foreign associates. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the patent procedural requirements of the USPTO and will have a proven track record in drafting and filing patent applications, patent docketing, and client communication. This position carries a 1500 hour billable requirement.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for:
1. Managing and preparing US and PCT patent applications, and coordinating international patent filings.
2. Liaising with foreign associates to ensure smooth execution of patent filings abroad.
3. Drafting and filing patent applications, responses to official actions, and other patent prosecution documents.
4. Maintaining patent docketing systems and ensuring all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
5. Communicating effectively with clients, attorneys, and other team members regarding patent prosecution matters.
6. Meeting the annual 1500 hour billable requirement.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, you must have:
1. A minimum of 4 years of experience in international, PCT, and US patent prosecution.
2. Proven experience as an intellectual property paralegal.
3. In-depth knowledge of the patent procedural requirements of the USPTO.
4. Strong skills in drafting and filing patent applications.
5. Experience in patent docketing and managing patent prosecution timelines.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client communication.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
8. A minimum of 3 years of experience in the legal industry.
9. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
