About the Job
We are currently seeking a Senior Oracle DBA / Fusion Middleware Application DBA for an immediate contract opportunity with our direct client based out of New York, NY. This is a remote position within the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and maintain Oracle database clusters to support software products and systems.
Support current versions and future upgrades of Oracle Technologies, including leading the technical Lift and Shift from On-Prem to Cloud.
Collaborate with leadership to design and recommend long-term approaches for the development of Shared Data Warehouses (SDW).
Implement best practices in database administration and introduce automation innovations.
Assist in Oracle database upgrades, migrations, and day-to-day administration support.
Participate in on-call rotation and provide production level support as needed.
Work closely with multiple application teams and developers to ensure seamless integration and support.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
8+ years of experience in Oracle database design, maintenance, and administration.
Proven experience with Oracle databases in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred).
Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, SQL, PL/SQL, and security concepts.
Experience with database automation scripting (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus.
Familiarity with Oracle Fusion Middleware products and BI Publisher.
Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), and Oracle Advanced Security.
Experience with HA solutions, backup/recovery procedures, and performance tuning.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues using tools like AWR reports.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Government contract experience is desired.
