About this position:
Calyxo is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior or Principal Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design and development of our innovative medical software applications, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement software solutions for medical devices, including image processing algorithms and embedded controllers.
- Develop and maintain device drivers and applications for medical device.
- Develop and execute unit tests with software verification.
- Conduct performance testing and optimize code to meet the requirements.
- Document software design and code review following the defined procedures in compliance with IEC62304.
- Bring prototypes into product level software (in an FDA regulated environment).
- Work independently and exercise judgment in making software changes.
- Cross-functional communication. Ability to communicate highly technical areas to management, manufacturing and quality.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field experience
- 8+ years of industry experience with at least 3 years in medical device
- Track record in understanding and programming skills of embedded systems to RTOS and Linux, using Python and C/C++.
- Experience with various software development methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in IEC62304 for medical devices or any other regulatory environment like automotive or aerospace.
- Experience in computer vision, image processing, and machine learning algorithms.
- Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.

Role and level determine our salary ranges. Your position within that range will depend on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience, relevant education, training, and certifications. In addition to those factors, we also examine internal equity as well as consider the current market rate and location, and the title may be assessed one level lower or higher accordingly. After you join Calyxo, your performance, contributions, and results, along with the business and organizational needs, will affect your base salary. The expected base salary range for this full-time position is between $170,000 - $310,000 plus equity and benefits.
