Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a Senior Operations/Maintenance Support Specialist II to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site (SRS).
The Senior Operations/Maintenance Support Specialist II provides general direction, guidance, analysis, coordination and/or support to operations, maintenance, and support organizations. These functions will typically be in direct or indirect support of a specific facility (or facilities), location or functional area. Administers and/or oversees operational programs.
Responsibilities:- Using considerable subject matter knowledge, provides feedback, recommendations, administration, coordination, and/or professional support on a variety of activities such as; audits, drills, assessments, process improvement, surveillances, inspections, walk downs, outages, compliance, predictive/preventive maintenance, cost/budget, communications, planning, scheduling, training, systems, performance metrics and other facility/area/programmatic initiatives and assignments
- Creates and reviews technical and non-technical work documents for compliance, accuracy, quality, completeness, and safety including, but not limited to, procedures, work packages, lockout/tagout plans, work products, checklists, white papers, presentations, and program documents in support of operations, maintenance, and project work evolutions associated with operation of an area or facility
- Leads and Implements small to large sized programs and improvement initiatives
- Performs walk downs, inspections, observations, and/or evaluations to ensure safe and efficient operation. Problem-solves as issues arise. Identifies and recommends key areas of improvement
- Performs advanced analysis on equipment and components providing meaningful conclusions and action plans
- Superuser and administrator of information systems and business applications including activities such as configuration management, system maintenance, upgrades, data integrity, analysis, and report/query development. Trains others on use of systems
- Performs involved crossfunctional inquiries, fact and information gathering pertaining to abnormal facility events or other occurrences in support of issue investigations which includes participation/facilitation of Fact Finding and Issue Investigation meetings. Documents and incorporates responses, recommendations, and situational and root cause factors.
- Plans and/or leads cross functional activities between construction, operations, work control, maintenance, projects and other relevant areas.
- Coordinates materials/waste handling, storage and disposition
- Provides advanced technical or professional support for operational/maintenance activities including facility system assessments, equipment maintenance and functional testing. Develops, implements and documents corrective actions for identified systems and equipment deficiencies and failures.
- Interfaces with other groups within and outside the facility or area for a variety of assignments. Serves as administrative or technical subject matter expert on numerous programs, policies, procedures, projects and/or practices
- Interprets and communicates site, company and/or departmental procedures or protocols
- May function in a variety of contingency coordinator roles in support of operations. These can include emergency/fire/security, environmental/regulatory compliance, and nuclear material accountability among others.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant technical discipline and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related; or
- Bachelor’s degree in non-technical or non-relevant discipline relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related; or
- Associates degree and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related; or
- High school diploma/GED and relevant work experience preferably in operations, maintenance, engineering or related
- Bachelors or Associates degree
- Current SRS Liquid waste facility operations experience
