Senior Nuclear Consultant - Vysus Group
Houston, TX TX
About the Job
This is an exciting time for Vysus Group as we continue to expand our footprint, supporting our diverse mix of customers across the world on a range of interesting projects. Come and join us to support us on our growth journey, while developing your own career with our talented global community.
Vysus Group is a leading engineering and technical consultancy offering specialist asset performance, risk management and project management expertise across complex industrial assets, energy assets (oil and gas, nuclear, renewables) and the energy transition.
There is a clear shift in interest in nuclear energy and we are entering into a new nuclear renaissance with many new build projects starting to unfold, both in terms of large-scale reactors and small modular reactors of various designs. Simultaneously, existing reactors must remain operational, meaning that the availability of resources will be a challenge for the entire nuclear supply chain. We are therefore ramping up Vysus Group’s nuclear capacity as we see a clear and increasing need for our services, both for existing clients but also for new customers.
As this nuclear renaissance is very relevant for the USA, our goal is to establish a nuclear service line in either our Houston office, Chicago, or remotely to start the journey of serving clients in the Americas.
We are currently looking for a Senior Nuclear Consultant to join our team in the USA. We work on a wide range of assignments within nuclear safety and risk analysis, for both nuclear power plants and other nuclear research, and non-reactor facilities and authorities and are looking for people with various competencies to deliver state-of-the-art solutions both in the USA and globally.
Tasks in this role include both deterministic and probabilistic studies as well as licensing related assignments and using specialised tools for the nuclear industry.
To be successful in the role of Senior Nuclear Consultant we are looking for you to have the following:
-
An MSc degree in engineering or a related field.
-
5 or more years’ experience in the nuclear industry.
-
Experience in probabilistic assessment of various kinds to work with nuclear safety such as Deterministic Safety Assessment (DSA) and/or Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA), risk-informed applications and/or Radiological Risk and Safety Analysis.
-
Experience in project management would be beneficial.
-
English language at a professional level (written & spoken).
As we travel to see our customers relatively often, it is an advantage for you to have a driving licence.
What we can offer you:
-
An opportunity to be part of a global multi-disciplinary team.
-
Opportunities to contribute to the development of new and exciting business areas.
-
A competitive salary and a good benefits package.
-
Flexible working arrangements.
