Job Description

The Senior Network Implementation Engineer is responsible for implementing LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi network infrastructures. This position requires thorough analysis and execution of all network changes implemented within the client's network. This person should have a proficient technical understanding of the technical engineering scripts (Routing and Switching) that are being implemented and careful reviews/feedback of all changes for issues that may arise due to syntax, technical errors and other variations.
The Implementation Engineer is responsible for working with other required engineers, change management, third party partners and other stake holders executing the delivery of network changes to the global environment. The execution of these solutions will support the business needs at all locations such as airports, sales offices, other administrative locations, and Data Centers and reservation centers worldwide.
Responsibilities

Implementation and Execution of Network Changes throughout the global environment covering 24x7x365 – follow the sun; flexibility with different shifts is a plus
- Ability to execute duties across multiple platforms and in varying environments
- Solid technical understanding of every network change that is being implemented for accuracy and consistency for a successful implementation
- Technical analysis and execution for deploying IOS Upgrades, Bug Fixes and Patching for network infrastructure
- Maintain the integrity of Life Cycle Management for all network assets (i.e...Last Day of Support, warranty coverage, last reboot, etc.…)
- Responsible for Network Port Activations
- Create and mature processes in support of an ITIL based implementation methodology
- Ensure quality of all deliverables
- Maintain good working relationships with the Managed Service Providers that provide networking services of the client's networks
- Act as the technical liaison during implementation changes between IT verticals, vendors, the business, and the network team as needed
- Consult with technical peers and management on network implementations
- Work with management and IT verticals as required to ensure on-going standards are upheld
- Ensure that all required stakeholders take part in changes as required
- Review and provide feedback on change documentation of other engineers
- Proactively recommend changes, enhancements, etc….to do things better

Skills/Knowledge

Expert knowledge of LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi
Strong knowledge of business environment and network implementations
Demonstrate problem solving skills, have strong presentation and analytical skills, and possess a strong desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be goals oriented and a team player
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Lead both technical and non-technical discussions
Proven ability to build and facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
Commitment to system functionality and user satisfaction in rapidly growing and changing environments

Strong planning/organization capability and ability to make major decisions quickly
Ability to track and report on metrics

Experience

10 plus years of enterprise data network/IT industry experience with a minimum of 6 working with implementing data network technologies and monitoring tools at an enterprise scale
Strong understanding of routing and switching methodologies
Strong technical consulting/customer service background, as well as excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and projects in a fast paced and highly outsourced IT environment
Extensive experience with technical network and application projects and implementations at scale
Strong network technical knowledge and experience with local area and wide area networks with an ability to quickly learn network/application terms
Cisco certification (CCNP) preferred
Experience working with HPN network equipment would be an advantage
Strong technical consulting/customer service background, as well as excellent oral, written, and presentation skills
Proven ability to handle operational related issues effectively, understanding escalation, communication and crisis management
