The Senior Network Engineer is a great opportunity with Johnson Controls to support the next generation of physical security solutions! Your role will have a large impact, as the technology you support will be used to protect people, facilities, and assets, at scale – around the world. You will be using the latest cutting-edge IoT and cloud technologies to power the next-generation of physical access control and video surveillance solutions for Johnson Controls. You will be working with a talented team of architects, product managers, software, hardware, IT and QA engineers. You will play a critical role in supporting cloud solutions, ensuring security, and driving collaboration within the team. How you will do it
Design, develop, and maintain an enterprise lab environment across different geographic locations.
Design, develop, and manage multiple physical, virtual, cloud-based lab networking infrastructures.
Develop, execute, and optimize scripts to deploy applications and security updates.
Develop a dynamic dashboard to track health status, performance, and inventory of all lab environments.
Design, develop, and manage cloud-based infrastructure for product deployment and operation.
Select the appropriate cloud platform, creating architecture diagrams, and developing automation scripts.
Deploy new applications to the cloud and migrate existing applications from on-premises infrastructure to the cloud.
Develop tools to monitor the connection and performance of cloud-based systems and optimize resources to ensure cost-effectiveness and high availability. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise.
Develop customer-facing whitepapers on cloud-based infrastructure recommendations and best practices.
Work with the company internal Cyber security team to implement and harden all labs and cloud environment to ensure security compliance.
What you will need
Required
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in networking, lab, and cloud infrastructure.
Strong experience in designing, developing, and managing physical, virtual, and cloud-based infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, auto scaling, and load balancing.
Strong knowledge of SQL data storage and volume management in both on-premise and cloud (RDS, Azured SQL managed...).
Familiarity with programming languages, such as C#, Java,...and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell.
Preferred
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
Familiarity with 802.1x, IP-V6.
