Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to support organizational operations.
- Manage and optimize local and wide area networks, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, working across hardware, software, and configuration challenges.
- Configure and maintain network security protocols and systems to safeguard sensitive data.
- Monitor and report on network performance metrics, recommending improvements as needed.
Senior Level (In addition to the above):
- Lead major network architecture changes, including new deployments, redesigns, and hardware configurations.
- Design and implement secure cloud networking solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Develop strategies for business continuity, including failover and disaster recovery planning.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects.
- Support the implementation and operation of specialized test, development, and medical device network enclaves.
Job Details
Qualifications
Required:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
Experience:
- Intermediate Level: Minimum of 5 years in computer system or network engineering.
- Senior Level: Minimum of 10 years in computer system or network engineering.
- Certifications: Active or recent certification preferred in one or more of the following: ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or -equivalent.
Strong knowledge of:
- Networking technologies, protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP), and equipment.
- Network security principles and practices, including firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.
- Cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and DevSecOps principles.
Preferred:
- Experience applying ITIL standards in network operations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies in software and infrastructure engineering.
Clearance:
- Active Secret Clearance required; Top Secret Clearance is a plus.
