Senior Network Engineer - Extreme Reach

The Opportunity 

XR’s Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s advanced network infrastructure. This role ensures the network's reliability, security, and performance while contributing to the development and execution of long-term strategies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with networking technologies, along with strong technical and communication skills. Responsibilities could change as the needs of the department evolve.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure the network infrastructure is highly available, secure, and optimized for performance
• Design, configure, implement, and maintain XR’s network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
• Work with ISPs, AWS and other vendors to resolve network problems
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation for future reference and knowledge transfer. This includes network diagrams, standards, guidelines, policies.
• Propose and implement technology enhancements that will improve the network's performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of network solutions with other systems and environments.
• Continuously monitor and assess network performance, identifying and troubleshooting potential issues proactively.
• Oversees and assesses information security for multiple network security technologies and enforces security policies through management of Network Access Control devices
• Administration of the global network infrastructure spanning offices across the globe and multiple AWS environments
• Become the go-to person for any networking-related issues/queries
• Monitor and be hands-on when network issues arise in any of our global sites seeing the issue through to resolution.

*Pursuant to New York City's Pay Transparency Law the pay range for this position is $115,000 - $125,000 plus bonus; base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security concepts.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, network optimization, and network security best practices
• Experienced knowledge of Cisco, Fortinet, and Meraki product offerings, configuration, and related security services
• Extensive knowledge of networking technologies, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switch configurations, and firewalls in a global enterprise environment
• Strong experience with cloud networking concepts within AWS
• Basic familiarity with PowerShell, Python, BASH, and/or other scripting languages.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or STEM field and at least 5 years of related professional experience in Networking
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, candidates with an Associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields of study and at least 10 years of related professional experience will be considered
• Experience with Service Management practices - such as Request Management, Incident Management, etc.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Occasional after-hours support to accommodate the needs of the business
• Strong problem-solving, organization and analytical skills.
• Outstanding people skills – Positive, Flexible and Adaptable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
