Lead Network Engineer

Long term contract

Onsite in Baltimore Maryland - Must currently reside within daily commutable distance of Baltimore.

Are you a seasoned Network Engineer ready to take the lead and drive network excellence? We are seeking a Lead Network Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cutting-edge network and cybersecurity solutions that ensure optimal performance and security.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Design & Security: Design and deploy advanced network and cybersecurity solutions.
• Systems Management: Oversee Cisco IOS routing, switching, and wireless environments.
• High Availability: Develop plans for network resiliency, recovery, and compliance with security best practices.
• Automation & Mentorship: Automate infrastructure processes and mentor junior team members.
• Leadership: Represent the infrastructure team in meetings, manage permissions, review team metrics, and develop succession plans.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• 5+ years of experience as a Network Engineer.
• Excellent communication skills.

Skills & Expertise:

• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network and security issues.
• Experience with network systems life cycles and upgrades.
• Active monitoring and remediation of security threats.
• Expertise in addressing Tier 2 and Tier 3 operational issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications: CCIE, CCNP, CCNA, CCSA, CCSE, CISSP. - Must have at least one of these certifications.
• Cloud Computing: AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience.
• IT leadership and government experience are a plus.
