What You’ll Do
As a Senior Medical Director, you will take ownership of the scientific and clinical aspects of assigned brands, serving as a trusted resource for internal teams and clients alike. You will play a pivotal role in crafting strategic communications, collaborating across disciplines, and ensuring scientific integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Knowledge & Expertise
- Master the Science
- Develop a deep understanding of assigned products, disease areas, and competitors, translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Guide the Team
- Critically review and enhance content created by cross-functional teams, ensuring scientific accuracy and strategic relevance.
- Expand Your Reach
- Demonstrate versatility in applying clinical knowledge across multiple brands and projects.
Strategic Insight & Execution
- Shape Strategy
- Lead discussions with internal teams, clients, and healthcare professionals to align brand objectives with strategic imperatives.
- Drive Development
- Create medical backgrounders and ensure the brand’s “medical hook” is consistently integrated into all content.
- Stay Ahead
- Monitor emerging literature and trends, sharing relevant insights with clients and internal stakeholders.
Client Engagement
- Build Partnerships
- Own and manage day-to-day client strategy and relationships for multiple accounts.
- Lead Workshops
- Collaborate on brand planning sessions and onboard new team members, fostering a unified approach to brand goals.
Business Development
- Contribute to Growth
- Lead medical research and insight development for new business pitches, crafting compelling immersion sections with account and strategy teams.
- Present with Confidence
- Be an integral part of live pitch presentations, showcasing the “medical hook” and your strategic vision.
Teamwork & Leadership
- Foster Collaboration
- Build constructive relationships with cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient workflows and timely deliverables.
- Mentor Junior Talent
- Lead by example, guiding junior team members to achieve their best performance and grow within their roles.
Operational Excellence
- Optimize Resources
- Provide input on staffing plans, ensuring efficient allocation of hours for workflows.
- Support Financial Success
- Understand resource management and proactively notify teams when available to assist with additional projects.
What You Bring:
- Advanced degree (MS, MD, PhD, PharmD) in a clinical or scientific field.
- 8+ years of experience in medical communications, with a proven track record of success.
- Ability to independently manage client relationships and strategic initiatives.
- Expertise in translating complex scientific data into clear, actionable strategies.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage internal teams, clients, and healthcare professionals effectively.
- A proactive mindset, with a passion for mentoring and collaborating across disciplines.

Salary
$120,000 to $170,000 annually
The salary range for this position is noted within this job posting.
