Senior Mechanical Project Manager
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical and Plumbing Project Manager with the ability to be a Medical Sector Market Leader for our Southern California office based in San Bernardino. This person will potentially perform work in multiple market sectors such as municipal, educational, federal, and other private market project types in addition to medical work.
As a Market Leader, duties will include a mixture of project management, business development, and mentorship of other designers and project managers. As a Senior Project Manager, this person will help supervise and mentor anywhere from 1 to 5 Project Management teams.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with new clientele, developing business relationships, and investing their time in mentoring the team. We stress customer service and are looking for someone who prides themselves on their ability to interact and communicate with everybody involved.
Required qualifications:
- 15 or more years of experience in HVAC and Plumbing Design and Project Management with the ability to put together complete sets of biddable construction documents.
- 10 years of experience as a Project Manager including all aspects such as attending meetings, managing designers and draftspersons, completing projects within timeline and budget
- Strong experience with complex mechanical systems
- Experience in various project types and market sectors with strong experience in medical and hospital projects
- Must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate the ability to maintain client relationships as an ambassador for Design West Engineering
- Experience with AutoCAD and Revit MEP
- Experience with proposal writing and client development.
- Must be able to multi-task between different projects and have adaptability to changing technologies, codes, and tools.
- Must demonstrate a passion for mentorship
Desired qualifications:
- LEED certified professional
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Licensed Mechanical Engineer in the State of California
Some job duties will include:
- Project Management
- Running point on proposals for your clients and contributing to proposals for secondary markets
- Overseeing some projects as a primary point of contact for the client
- Engaging with clients and leading project team on projects from kick-off to completion of construction.
- Formulate a cohesive design solution within scheduled timelines and project budget.
- Client Development
- Work with the Business Development team to strategize and grow work in the medical market sector
- Own client relationships that align with your market
- Recurring marketing meetings to strategize sector growth
- Engage new clients and industry events to build business

Targeted Start Date
- Approximately July 2024
Targeted Compensation
- $110,000 - $165,000 per year depending on experience
- Opportunity for bonus twice per year
