Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** is seeking an experienced **Senior Mechanical Engineer** to join our innovative team in New York, NY to support our transportation business group. In this senior-level position, you will lead complex mechanical engineering projects, drive product development initiatives, and mentor junior engineers to deliver cutting-edge solutions. This position offers a hybrid work schedule + Spearhead the design and development of advanced mechanical systems and products + Lead and manage cross-functional engineering teams to achieve project goals and deadlines + Conduct and oversee complex engineering analyses, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) + Develop and implement best practices for mechanical design and product development processes + Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, timelines, and resource requirements + Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers + Evaluate and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve engineering efficiency + Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations + Present technical findings and project updates to senior management and clients + Contribute to the company's intellectual property portfolio through innovations and patents **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements:** + BA/BS + 8 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education **Preferred Requirements** : + Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field + Professional Engineering (PE) license + 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record in product development + Advanced proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD + Expertise in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques + Strong project management skills, including experience with relevant software tools + In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, product design, and manufacturing processes + Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail + Strong leadership and communication skills, with experience managing engineering teams + Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in engineering processes + Familiarity with materials science and its applications in product development + Experience presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences + Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment **Additional Information** + Relocation assistance is not available for this role + Sponsorship is available for this role Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
