About Our Client: Our client is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible leading mechanical design efforts for successful implementation of EPC projects from early development phase to commissioning and turnover. They are an engineering/construction company with an expertise in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. Role Responsibilities:
Organizational Efforts:
- Specification development/improvement to ensure compliance with industry best practices, codes and standards.
- Development of internal-use tools to improve efficiency and accuracy of engineering deliverables.
- Teach/Coach less experienced engineers.
During Engineering and Procurement Phases:
- Review of, and proper application of, client standards as it pertains to static and rotating equipment, pipe/valves/fittings, welding, inspection and test plans, etc.
- Equipment specification.
- Vetting of Request for Quote (RFQ) packages.
- Technical review of vendor quotes, including pre-purchase review.
- Provide Project Managers with guidance on design, purchase, installation, and post-construction support for all mechanical equipment.
- Participation in structured and individual review of project documentation, such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), 3-D models, equipment lists, etc.
- Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and/or HAZOPs.
- Development of pipe specifications.
- Development of project specific Post-Weld Heat Treat (PWHT) requirements, Non-Destructive E (NDE) requirements, bolt coating requirements, torquing requirements, etc.
During Construction Phase:
- Provide technical support for field construction personnel, as needed, including site visits.
- Commissioning/start up support.
- Request For Information (RFI) support.
Who You Are:
- Experience performing Mechanical Engineering duties with EPC or end user in industrial manufacturing.
- Knowledge of applicable ASME codes and API standards.
- Understanding of design and operation of pumps and compressors.
- Familiarity with ASME 31.3 and/or ASME 31.8 as well as piping specifications.
- Experience specifying or maintaining Rotating Equipment (Pumps, Compressors, Expanders, etc.).
What Will Put You Ahead:
- 5+ Years of Experience with Mechanical Engineering with EPC or end user in industrial manufacturing.
- Bachelors Degree or higher in mechanical engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) Certificate or PE License.
- Direct experience in completing full scope engineering, procurement, construction projects (EPC) on a lump sum, turn-key basis.
