Job Overview:
We are an industry leader in developing custom hydraulic solutions, specializing in hydraulic cylinders. We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with extensive cylinder design experience to join our team. This position will focus on New Product Development and Continuous Product Improvement projects, requiring expertise in CREO analysis tools and in-depth knowledge of hydraulic cylinder design and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineering Design & Analysis: Create and analyze designs using CREO, with a focus on hydraulic cylinder structural analysis and specifications
- Product Development: Drive new product development and improvements for hydraulic cylinders using manufacturing and mechanical design expertise
- Technical Standards: Interpret and apply industry standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, DNV) in cylinder design and testing
- Manufacturing Integration: Develop detailed manufacturing drawings for machining, welding, and assembly processes specific to hydraulic cylinders
- Material & Process Engineering: Select materials and define manufacturing processes that meet both technical requirements and cost targets
- Design Validation: Perform mechanical and hydraulic analysis on cylinders to ensure product integrity and performance
- Project Leadership: Lead technical projects from concept through production, ensuring quality and timeline objectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years experience in hydraulic cylinder design and analysis
- Expert-level proficiency in CREO and experience with ANSYS
- Strong background in mobile hydraulics and fluid power systems
- Extensive knowledge of machining, welding, and manufacturing processes
- Proven experience interpreting and applying industry standards in design work
- Experience with manufacturing and mechanical design in hydraulic applications
- P.E. License or Certified Fluid Power Engineer (CFPE) preferred
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in structural analysis using CREO
- Expertise in hydraulic cylinder design and manufacturing processes
- Strong understanding of sealing technology and engineering fundamentals
- Experience with DFMEAs and test plan development
- Proficiency in tolerance stack-up analysis
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $105,000 to $120,000 (negotiable based on experience)
- Bonus: 10% bonus based on performance
- Benefits Package: Full benefits including all insurance, 401(k) w/ match, PTO, and relocation assistance
- Travel: Less than 10%.
