Position Overview:
As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the mechanical engineering department and overseeing all aspects of MEP projects from conception to completion. Your extensive technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities will be instrumental in driving the success of our engineering projects and maintaining our high-quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Technical Leadership:
- Provide expert-level guidance and technical leadership to the mechanical engineering team, offering insights on complex design challenges, codes, and standards.
- Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements and best practices in mechanical engineering, actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating with architects, clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, monitoring progress and making adjustments as necessary to meet project milestones and deadlines.
- Conduct regular project meetings, provide project status updates, and resolve any technical issues or conflicts that may arise during the design and construction phases.
- Design and Analysis:
- Lead the design and analysis of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and energy management systems, ensuring compliance with building codes, industry standards, and client requirements.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and modeling to assess system performance, energy efficiency, and sustainability, recommending design optimizations and cost-effective solutions.
- Review and evaluate equipment selections, specifications, and contractor submittals to ensure alignment with project objectives and technical requirements.
- Team Development:
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing technical guidance, fostering professional growth, and promoting a collaborative work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and identify training needs for team members, supporting their ongoing development and career progression.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in MEP engineering, with a focus on mechanical systems design and project management.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and mechanical engineering principles.
- Proficiency in design software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and energy modelling software.
- Proven experience leading and managing MEP projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring, coaching, and team development.
