Position Overview: The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components for a variety of projects. This position requires a deep understanding of engineering principles, coupled with advanced skills in PLC programming, Creo 3D modeling, and COMSOL simulation. The successful candidate will lead interdisciplinary teams, drive innovation, and deliver solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical Design and Analysis:
- Design and analyze mechanical systems, components, and structures using advanced engineering software tools such as Creo Parametric and COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize designs for strength, performance, and reliability.
- Generate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly.
PLC Programming and Control Systems:
- Develop and implement PLC programs and control algorithms for automation and mechatronics applications.
- Interface with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical systems with control systems and sensors.
- Troubleshoot and debug control systems to ensure proper functionality and performance.
Prototype Development and Testing:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and test prototypes of mechanical systems and components.
- Design and conduct experiments to validate performance, functionality, and durability.
- Analyze test data and iteratively refine designs based on test results and feedback.
Project Management and Leadership:
- Lead interdisciplinary project teams, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
- Communicate project status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders and senior management.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical engineering.
- Drive innovation and process improvements within the engineering team, leveraging new tools, methodologies, and techniques.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the engineering team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and optimization.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens), Creo Parametric (formerly Pro/ENGINEER), and COMSOL Multiphysics.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, including mechanics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Experience with mechatronics, automation, and control systems integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and project management abilities.
