Job DescriptionAre you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a passion for translating theoretical knowledge into practical solutions? Do you enjoy taking on challenging problems and developing innovative products that make a real impact? If so, Miller Electric's Industrial Equipment Division is looking for you to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
In this role, you'll be at the forefront of designing and improving our products, leveraging your skills to deliver customer-focused solutions. You'll work collaboratively with cross functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, customer support, and marketing, to drive product development and support our existing product lines.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will:
Lead Product Development: Design, develop, prototype, test, and implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles for new and existing Industrial Equipment Division products.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance product performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness while addressing issues from the field, manufacturing line, and suppliers.
Innovate with Customer-Focused Design: Utilize Customer Backed Innovation (CBI) principles to deliver solutions that meet specific customer needs.
Support Project Management: Actively participate in project meetings, manage assigned action items, and deliver on project milestones and timelines.
Perform Engineering Analysis: Select, analyze, and test materials, and address mechanical, thermal, fluid, and packaging challenges to ensure optimal product performance.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a demonstrated ability to blend theory with hands-on application.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software, including SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Strong track record of successful product development, project management, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to address mechanical, thermal, and fluid design challenges.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments
