Our client is seeking an Mechanical Engineer with a background to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. Our client is a manufacturer of gear boxes, transmissions, power-packs, hybrid propulsion systems, suspension systems, slide bearings, couplings and test systems.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Position: Direct Hire
Travel: 5% domestic and international required
Compensation: Highly Competitive with Benefits.
Location: Indianapolis, IN

Our client is seeking an Mechanical Engineer with a background to join their team in Indianapolis, IN. Our client is a manufacturer of gear boxes, transmissions, power-packs, hybrid propulsion systems, suspension systems, slide bearings, couplings and test systems.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Designing, developing and improving mechanical systems and components.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that mechanical systems meet performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness standards.
- Create designs and layouts of test benches and gearboxes
- Design of test bench structures and creation of variant designs.
- Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
- Calculate and selection of machine elements and hydraulic components.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other team members to integrate mechanical systems with electronic and software systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate communication with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure clarity.
- Conduct prototypes, testing, and validation to ensure product functionality and performance.
Identify and resolve mechanical design issues and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Required Software: Siemens NX, MS Office
Required Experience:
Required Experience:
- 5-15 years of experience designing, developing and improving mechanical systems and components.
- 5-15 years of experience creating designs and layouts of test benches and gearboxes
- Design of test bench structures and creation of variant designs.
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse team environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop practical engineering solutions for difficult problems.

90,000 - 110,000 /year
