We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Senior Mechanical Designer to join our fast-paced Engineering team. This is a permanent position where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing all aspects of mechanical systems for buildings in the K-12, higher education, and government space.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and temperature control systems for K-12, higher education, and government buildings.
- Create detailed 3D designs for complex projects using software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to understand project requirements and goals.
- Conduct regular system calculations and analyses to ensure designs meet all necessary safety and performance standards.
- Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
- Ensure all designed systems meet legal and quality assurance requirements.
- Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced designers.
- Coordinate with other team members to identify and resolve potential design conflicts in early stages.
- Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 6+ years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in building systems design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
- Experience in designing HVAC, plumbing, temperature control systems, and other MEP systems.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, methodologies, and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, as well as independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of work.
- Familiarity with the latest industry trends, technologies, and methodologies.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
