Job Summary:
Kodak Alaris seeks a highly self-motived and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join and grow our worldwide diversely skilled team. As a senior mechanical engineer at Kodak Alaris, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, product managers, and production teams to ensure successful implementation of projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, systems, and products.
- Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations, and analyses.
- Use CAD to design injection molded, sheet metal, die-cast, and precision machined parts starting from initial concept to a production-ready state.
- Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including our suppliers, to ensure design feasibility and functionality.
- Conduct testing and validation of prototypes and final products.
- Identify and implement design improvements for performance, cost, manufacturability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide technical support and feedback during the manufacturing process.
- Document and report on engineering activities and project progress.
- Identify, analyze, and diagnose technical problems or malfunctions and develop and implement effective solutions to restore functionality or improve performance.
- Present mechanical system design reviews to cross disciplinary teams.
Basic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- 10-15 years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software (Siemens NX preferred), Microsoft Office Applications.
- Knowledge in designing injection molded, sheet metal, die-cast, and precision machined parts.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, mechanical systems, and materials.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with engineers from other fields, technicians, and project managers.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing to both, team members, and clients.
- Precision in design, analysis, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with engineering standards and regulations.
- Understanding tolerancing and use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience in troubleshooting part/system failures using both a hands-on and measuring instrumentation.
Additional Preferred Skills:
- Conceptual knowledge in Opto-Mechanical design.
- Familiarity with other software’s including SolidWorks, LabVIEW, and MATLAB.
- Competent in 3D printing and ability to optimize parameters for ideal printing with various materials.
- Knowledge in materials including polymers/co-polymers and filler materials.
$120,000 to $135,000 annually, based on experience
