Compensation
The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

As a Marine Mechanical Auxiliary Engineer you will
- Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide engineering support to the United States Coast Guard - Surface Forces Logistics Center.

A week in the life of a Marine Mechanical Auxiliary Engineer
- Assist in design, development, and evaluation of the operation of marine systems, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as auxiliary systems, HVAC&R, piping systems.
- Support the US Coast Guard reviewing third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems and components.
- Perform design reviews, evaluating constructability, helping resolve technical issues, and managing information generated through the design and construction phases.
- Conduct analyses of various auxiliary systems, lead development of technical data packages and reviews. Conduct trade studies regarding auxiliary system configuration.
- Conduct mechanical engineering analysis.
- Create graphical representations of structures and systems.
- Inspect auxiliary equipment or systems.
- Assist in research of advanced engineering designs or applications.
- Prepare technical reports for internal use.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 4 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Design, develop and evaluate operation of marine vessels, shipboard auxiliary systems and piping review.
- Develop technical data packages.
- Provide oversight on development of machinery arrangements.
- Conduct and oversee trade studies.
- Lead engineers in development efforts.
- Coordinate with other functional areas to complete ship design.
- Knowledge of ABS, USN, and industry standards relating to shipboard auxiliary systems.
Experience
- Progressively responsible experience in marine specific fields (i.e. auxiliary systems, piping systems, fluids and hydraulics)
- Working with Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Auto-CAD
- Familiarity with ABS, NVR, and commercial ship design rules and regulations.
