About the Job
We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (MFG) to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. Position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing manufacturing engineering activities.

Your Challenge:
+ With the ultimate goal of increasing productivity and reduction of production unit cost . You will lead activities that include Routine Method / Operational Analysis for product/project flow data, directly related to tooling, equipment, and labor requirements used in manufacturing operations.
+ Must be able to understand and apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design to Cost (DTC) concepts to development and production projects.
+ Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts during manufacturing and drawing review and development.
+ Design tooling and fixtures for manufacturing of parts/assemblies.
+ Identify new and improve processes to reduce rework, cycle-time, and costs. By being able and willing to develop and revise work instructions, routings, manufacturing processes and procedures, tool drawings with related manufacturing software.
+ Participate in Kaizen Events, Process Mapping and Project Readiness reviews.
+ Have understanding of manufacturing programs including PLM and Productivity Software (TeamCenter, VISIO or Oracle), Design Software (AutoCAD, SolidEdge, Solid Works, or Inventor), along with MS Office suite of programs.
+ Provide shop, field service and supplier support as necessary.
+ Develop quotations.
+ Act as the Voice of the Customer (VOC), by understanding customer perspectives, needs and inputs to implement appropriate actions.
+ Provide leadership for project team and technical team meetings by setting the right environment so team member’s ideas flow freely and embrace creative solutions.
+ Perform work in accordance with departmental procedures and instructions, CW policies, and safety, environmental, and security rules and guidelines.
What You Bring:
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related Engineering discipline. Master’s level degree would be considered a bonus.
+ Minimum prior work experience of 15 years in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or a closely related engineering field working in an industrial, shop or manufacturing environment.
+ Strong communication skills are a must.
+ Ability to create models and drawings, to help present design reviews and coordinate multiple projects. Ideally would like experience with either SolidEdge, SolidWorks, Inventor or other 3D CAD package.
+ Must be a team player.
+ Prior Defense, Nuclear, Power Generation or heavy manufacturing experience with rotating machinery is highly desired.
+ Should have exposure with manufacturing processes, such as machining, welding, winding, or assembly.
+ Experience with design and manufacture of fixtures and tooling is strongly desired.
+ Should have a change agent mentality.
+ Previous work providing stress analysis for the design of lifting and handling equipment is a bonus.
+ Must be sole US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance
