Position: Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Reports to: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Position Summary:
This role is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving product quality, and ensuring efficient production operations. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Essential Functions:
- Provide manufacturing input at the engineering level, including Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles, cost reduction initiatives, rapid part procurement, and ensuring drawing accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize drawing software to establish new manufacturing and design methods.
- Design and develop manufacturing processes for new products, enhancements, product changes, and related fixtures, ensuring zero defects and low product cost.
- Perform research and development on materials and coatings to ensure suitability for intended machine applications while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure accurate collection, analysis, and reporting of labor data for fabrication and assembly jobs, maintaining competitive internal product costs.
- Lead and support Kaizen improvement projects using continuous improvement techniques to reduce labor costs.
- Review business systems and methods to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement standards and inspection processes for part inspection to ensure parts meet design specifications.
- Lead projects for establishing new manufacturing operations or improving existing ones, including selecting, justifying, purchasing, installing, testing, and activating new capital equipment.
- Identify and resolve problems encountered during the initial build of designs, collaborating with manufacturing engineers, designers, and the quality department to prevent recurrence.
- Work with the supply chain team to evaluate and approve new and existing suppliers, ensuring quality and delivery standards are met. This may involve supplier site visits.
- Actively support lean initiatives and participate in rapid improvement events. Apply continuous improvement practices across all job functions.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols, keeping the area clean and organized, and following company policies and procedures.

Competencies:
- Proficient in CAD software, manufacturing simulation tools, and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma principles.
- Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Collaborative problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively with teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to tolerate moderate levels of noise, vibration, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to move between different facility areas, including the production floor, warehouse, and administrative offices.
- Adherence to health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, or a related field.
- Five or more years of experience in the engineered-to-order machinery industry or equivalent knowledge and training.
