Senior Managing Director, Product Lead at The Joint Commission

The Product Lead is responsible for driving product development of quality measurement related products at the National Quality Forum and the Joint Commission. The Product Lead will oversee and manage teams that support the conceptualization, research, and development of products that incorporate standards and quality measures for the evaluation of health care organizations for customers that include hospital facilities, provider organizations, and payers. The Product Lead will report to National Quality Forum leadership and leverage the Joint Commission Mission Development and Organizational Engagement (MDOE)-led enterprise-wide product development processes and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting the design and development of products from concept to production, including market research, pricing analyses, and interviews to understand user needs and pain points.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize and validate design concepts through rapid prototyping and testing.
• Provide technical guidance to product and measures development teams.
• Utilize agile methodologies to iteratively design and refine product concepts.
• Champion a data-driven approach to decision-making, leveraging analytics and user feedback to inform design iterations.
• Establish and maintain design systems and guidelines to ensure consistency and scalability across all products and platforms.
• Advocate for user-centric design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.

Minimum Requirements:

Position requires demonstrated product development experience and an ability to lead teams and to collaborate cross-departmentally. Specific education/experience requirements are as follows.

Education/Certification:

• Advanced degree in business administration, systems engineering, or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience, including knowledge of product development within the health care field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience managing people, budgets, and projects.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring individuals and/or teams and holding staff accountable for results.
• Proven track record leading and managing multiple complex projects and competing priorities to achieve optimal results.
• Experience conducting market research, including user interviews/focus groups, testing, competitor trend studies.
• Demonstrated experience developing budgets and forecasts for projects and managing utilization targets.
• Strong knowledge of value-based payment design and implementation; familiarity with the technical aspects of assessing health care quality and equity.
• Experience with health plan contracting, health insurance incentives, health care data exchange mechanisms and data sharing arrangements, electronic health record vendors, and clinical registries a plus.

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of product development methods and best practices, including product roadmapping.
• Demonstrated communication skills, including writing and oral presentation skills related to presenting options, considerations, and issues for decision-making.
• Ability to prioritize and direct resources to achieve and maximize results.
• Strategic thinking to ensure product decisions align with overall business goals, market trends, and customer needs.

Salary Range: USD $167,000.00/year - USD $210,000.00/year
