Our client, the nation’s largest retailer, is hiring a Senior Manager on their Design team to lead a multi-disciplinary team of designers to articulate the strategy and design for our products and experiences at the front end of their stores. You will help shape the digital and physical experiences by starting with human-centered design. This work will allow you to innovate and directly impact the millions of customers and associates we serve every day. You’ll set the vision for the best experiences and create a space for cross-functional colleagues to collaborate. You will use your knowledge of the Design Thinking process to collaborate with partner teams, facilitate conversations, create concepts, run design sprints, and build rapid prototypes to leverage the collective creativity. You’ll employ your great strengths in storytelling to present your vision and product design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to the wider team. While working with partners to determine a shared plan forward that balances business and technology considerations, you will create and champion an experience that is highly engaging and usable while delivering pixel-perfect detailed design with your team.

Excellent visual and interaction design skills and a keen understanding of trends in the marketplace – in and out of retail.

A demonstrated track record working cross-functionally in shipping successful physical environments and services at scale.

An ability to communicate concepts in a clear and compelling way to audiences of all levels of understanding and levels of seniority.

A demonstrable understanding of retail and deep experience building experiences that drive revenue.

A strong design aesthetic that brings together brand expressions and systems thinking. You practice universal design and believe in inclusion.

A deep expertise in the built environment and how people move through space and make decisions.

Deep experience with business requirement gathering, end-to-journey mapping, facilitating sessions like Design Sprints, conducting competitive analysis, and leading rapid concepting and prototyping.

Ability to consume deep strategic data and insights to produce meaningful experiences for customers and members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in HCI, Information Architecture, Digital Design, or similar and 7+ years of experience in product design.

Experience in Environmental Design or Service Design
