Scope of the Position:The Senior Corporate Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing and executing overall strategic and operational direction for Flex-N-Gate’s Supply Chain Management activities. The scope includes Inventory Control, Supplier Scheduling, Customer/Production Planning, Material Handling and Logistics/Customs across multiple Flex-N-Gate Plants. This position is responsible for delivering excellence in Supply Chain Management Methods and Routines throughout the Plant Materials Planning & Logistics teams, and ultimately to deliver favorable financial results to Flex-N-Gate through excellence in Supply Chain Management functions.
Responsibilities:- Serve Plant MP&L Teams as a Subject Matter Expert resource related to supply chain processes and routines.
- Consistently demonstrate results driven leadership as measured by MPL Balanced Scorecard Metrics and Monthly Leadership Reviews.
- Establish and implement global standard best practices in all areas of Supply Chain. Identify internal and external best practices and facilitate standardization activities globally for all macro disciplines.
- Lead and support, as required, launch readiness activities for major launches.
- Serve as an MP&L Champion for Lean/Continuous Improvement initiatives, inclusive of shop floor visual management and flow, Plan for Every Part (PFEP), 5S, Kanban, etc.
- Work closely on a daily basis with other functional leads, including Finance, Supplier Quality, Quality, Sales, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Engineering to optimize overall business.
- Attend and/or lead periodic team meetings as required – with a strong focus on efficiency and effectiveness.
- Lead the optimization of current Supply Chain Management technologies while consistently striving for technological advancements aligned with improved delivery of results.
- Support Plant Manager’s with Materials Manager Position Succession/Progression, Acquisition, Training, and Coaching.
- Support Plant Manager’s with MP&L Organizational Structure Strategy and Performance Management Process.
- Assess global training needs and facilitate/conduct standard global training activities that support standard skillsets across plants and ultimately improve the expertise of our Supply Chain/MP&L workforce globally.
- Support global MP&L teams with recruiting and securing of Supply Chain talent, building high performing teams.
- Provides senior management with the necessary information to make data-based decisions to deliver the company’s strategic and financial goals.
- Demonstrate leadership by establishing credibility; act with integrity; emulate and inspire commitment; motivate and guide teams to achieve strategic objectives & goals.
- Conduct training sessions and seminars.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent leadership and time management skills.
- Community college or university degree in appropriate discipline – preferably with a concentration in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering/Management.
- Minimum of ten years work experience in a manufacturing or supply chain management environment.
- Minimum of six years work experience in a Supervisory or Managerial role.
- APICS or ISM Certification preferred.
- Tier 1 or OEM Automotive Supply Chain Experience preferred.
- Sound knowledge of ERP Systems.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work effectively alone and prioritize.
- Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for challenge and new initiatives are prerequisites.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Supervisory and interpersonal skills are required.
- Troubleshooting ability is required.
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated good internal and external customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
