This role is new to Cordis reporting directly to the Global Head of Indirect Procurement. It is expected to drive critical department activities influencing a broad spectrum of strategic spend, supply performance and working capital management. The position will work closely with the department head, procurement teammates, SMEs and executive leadership on setting, executing, and reporting on the Indirect Procurement agenda.
This leader will contribute to the Indirect Procurement mission through two critical functions:
- Facilitate and drive department PMO activities for the annual savings project pipeline managing schedule, resourcing, risk management, change management, and budget to ensure project deliverables stay on track.
- Lead and support supply transformation activities through strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, business process reengineering, asset optimization, and net working capital management.
This role will work in close coordination with leadership in our Plants (Miami, Santa Clara, Irvine, and Juarez), Regions (Americas, EMEA, and APAC), and Corporate Functions (Finance, HR, Legal, and Quality & Regulatory). This is a remote position based in the US with some expected travel and after-hours business calls
Responsibilities:
- Define the scope and roadmap for strategic sourcing and supply chain projects; partnering with all interdependent functions.
- Execute an effective governance process to track progress and report out to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Implement effective change management to ensure key stakeholders are onboard with the work and brought along.
- Measure value capture of completed projects.
- In addition to project leadership, provide a strategic viewpoint on current supply processes and risks, strategic supplier value and performance, and potential opportunities for improvement.
- Predict risk factors and mitigate them for successful completion of cost and performance improvement objectives.
- Work with key stakeholders to define relevant functional 3–5-year strategic supply plans.
- Influence teammates and leaders who do not have direct reporting relationships.
Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills and abilities)
- Proven leadership and ability to drive transformation and large-scale program management.
- Strong project / program management skillset, including scoping, execution / tracking, metrics, risk mitigation, stakeholder management, and change management.
- Ability to create and gain buy-in for business cases and value creation and see through to realization.
- Strong ability to communicate at the executive level; visible to executive team in driving transformation.
- Ability to work across regions, divisions and functions to influence change across the organization.
- Provide direction and scope guardrails to workstream leaders.
- Ability to resolve cross team conflicts.
- Exceptional teaming & collaboration both internally & externally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications:
- Ideal background is either 2-4 years of work experience in Consulting OR 4-6 years of sourcing and procurement experience with an MBA.
- Title will be variable based on work experience and background
- Strong technical education (i.e., operations, engineering, program management, finance, etc.)
- BS required, MBA a plus
- Project management experience/certification a plus
- Medical Device experience a plus
